We welcome Lauren Shey as the new full-time Portland BBYO City Director and Regional Program Associate. This position encompasses two major sets of responsibilities. Lauren will act as the Portland BBYO City Director, overseeing all Portland BBYO programming including parent communication, chapter and city-wide programming, assisting with area-wide youth collaborations and MJCC partnership programming. Lauren will also act as the regional program director overseeing all aspects of regional conventions and communication.
The following is an introduction letter from Lauren,
"Shalom! My name is Lauren Shey, and I’m the new BBYO Portland City Director. Allow me to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I graduated from The University of Tennessee, and I’m coming to Portland from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I’ve been a Program Associate with BBYO in Milwaukee for 3 years and I’m so excited to bring my experience, enthusiasm, and creativity to Evergreen Region. I’ve worked with teens in many areas of programming including Judaism and Jewish Identity, Community Service and Social Action, as well as AZA and BBG leadership programming. I am eager to begin this new chapter with you all in Portland, and I look forward to connecting with you during the coming fall months and getting to know everyone."
Please join us in welcoming Lauren and making her feel comfortable in her new role.
Thank you to Suzy Sostrin for her work this past year. Suzy’s efforts made a very positive impact on both local programming in Portland and on the quality of our regional programming this year. Suzy developed strong and positive relationships with BBYO families and we wish her all the best as the new Hillel program director at the University of Oregon.
