APRIL COLLECTION DRIVE - Honor Earth Day on April 22 all month long!
PJA and the MJCC are celebrating all month with TWO environmentally friendly collections...
CORKS
Organizations such as the Cork Forest Conservation Alliance and ReCork recycle clean or stained corks into shoes, flooring, packaging, and other goods that might otherwise be made of plastics.
PLASTIC FILM
We are thrilled to be partnering with Ridwell once again to offer convenient plastic film collection throughout the month. Plastic film generally refers to thin plastic that you can punch a hole in fairly easily. Bring the following clean, dry items to the collection barrel in the PJA Lobby:
• Ziploc bags
• Bubble wrap
• Air packaging pillows (deflated)
• Grocery bags
• Plastic shipping envelopes
• Bread bags
• Newspaper bags
• Produce bags
• Dry cleaning bags
• Outer wrapping of items such as paper towel rolls
Please note: plastic film is not the same as multi-layer plastic (the material we collected in November). Mixing in other items with our plastic film drive contaminates our collection and forces us to throw away items that could otherwise be recycled. If in doubt about a plastic item, please do not include it in our drive.
Bring corks to the MJCC or PJA Lobby. Bring plastic film to the PJA Lobby only.
Deadline to drop-off items: Friday, May 3, 2024.
