Classes are free and open to participants 14 years and older. Water fitness classes are a great way to get a challenging workout yet come out feeling refreshed! In-water exercise is great for aerobic conditioning, calorie burning, flexibility, and strengthening. All these benefits come without the stress and strain on the body associated with land-based exercise. While swimming proficiency is not a requirement to participate, comfort in both deep and shallow water is recommended.

Water exercise is easier on the body's joints thanks to the body's buoyancy in the water. The MJCC has a variety of classes in both pools to keep you fit and feeling good!

Aquatic Group Exercise Classes

Classes held in our Main Pool

Aquarobics
This no-to-low impact class is perfect for those looking to start a fitness routine or add variety to an existing one. The water provides buoyancy for support while you build a strong body. Great for rehabilitating after injuries. Main Pool

Aqua Power
High energy routines let you burn the most calories while still enjoying a no-to-low impact workout. Get ready to heat it up in our cool pool! Main Pool

Masters Swimming
Keep fit and work out with masters swimming. Our masters swim program is led by a long-time member volunteer Ronald Cobb. Main Pool
Tuesday/Thursday 6:30 - 7:30 pm
Monday/Wednesday/Friday 6:00 - 7:15 am
Cost: $15/day. Member Cost: Free.

Arthritis Exercise with the Arthritis Foundation
Warm water is the ideal environment for relieving arthritis pain and stiffness. This class will help you gain flexibility, range of motion, and strength while relieving pain. Also appropriate for persons without arthritis. Warm Pool

Ai-Chi

Please observe quiet time during Ai-Chi.

This meditative class combines deep breathing with progressive movements of the arms, legs, and torso. Based on Tai-Chi, Ai-Chi helps improve balance and range of motion and promotes relaxation and cardiovascular health. Warm Pool

Water Fusion

Please observe quiet time during Water Fusion


Use the warm water to stretch far beyond ordinary limits. Drawing on the latest physiological knowledge, focus on breathing deeply, stretching, and relaxing. Warm Pool
