Lifeguarding Course

Take our American Red Cross lifeguarding class* and get on the path to employment in our awesome Aquatics department! Pay starts at $16.25 and includes a free membership. Open to everyone ages 15 and up!

Apply to be a lifeguard and if you are hired and pass the prerequisites and online portion, your course will be free and we'll pay for your time spent during in-person training!

8:30 am - 5:30 pm

Must attend all classes. Online content requiring approximately 7 hours to complete will be emailed
after registration and must be complete by the start of the first class.

Prerequisites:
• Competently swim 300 continuous yards freestyle and/or breaststroke with face in water between breaths.
• Tread water for 2 minutes with no hands.
• Without goggles, swim 20 yards, dive 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10 lb brick, return to start on back with both hands on brick and exit pool without using ladder/stairs in under 1 minute and 40 seconds.

Prerequisite testing will take place at the beginning of the first class.  Students who do not pass the prerequisites may not continue in the class and will not be eligible for a refund.
