
House Rules
Team Registration:
- Team Captain is to complete a Registration Form and submit it with at least a $100 deposit.
- Team registration fee for an 8 game session is $610.00. Registration is on a First Come, First Serve basis - with current teams getting first priority if registered by the in-house deadline.
- The balance of the team fee is due before the third game of the session.
- There is a $20 fee to re-schedule a game.
- There is an $8 Referee fee per game payable directly to the referee before your game.
- There will be a $30 No Show/Forfeit Fee to any team who does not speak directly to a MJCC employee more than 48 hours in advance of the scheduled game. A second no show/forfeit in a season will be subject to a $40 fine. A third no show/forfeit will result in suspension from the league and forfeiture of team fee.
- Teams who forfeit give up their right to that game-there is no guarantee the game can be rescheduled. However, all attempts will be made to try and schedule a makeup game for the team on the receiving end of a forfeit if needed.
- Schedules will be made available to your team three days prior to your first game. Schedules will be posted on the web by your second game of a session.
- Completed roster must be turned in prior to the first game along with a player waiver for each player before they are able to play.
- Players under 18 must have their waiver signed by a parent/guardian before they are able to play.
- Adult league players must be 18+ or have graduated from high school in order to be eligible to play.
- Plan on being at your first game at least 15 minutes in advance to assure all players are verified.
- No individual will be allowed to participate in a league game until a Waiver & Release of Liability form. This form will be used to issue individuals their player cards. Player cards will be good for one year. Fall Session to the end of the Summer II Session.
- If a team is ahead by five points, the opposing team may use an additional player (either from their own team or from the winning team) until they are within four points of each other.
Divisions:
- Divisions are assigned to one primary game day and may include alternate game days. Game days are assigned to divisions. Some divisions will play on alternate game days depending upon; the length of the session, the number of teams participating, recognized holidays over the course of a session Divisions may be assigned to play on any other day (s). Teams should register for a division based upon their skill level.
- Division 1 - designates the more competitive soccer teams
- Division 2 - designates the intermediate level soccer teams
- Division 3 - designates the entry/recreational level soccer teams
Co-ed Soccer:
These leagues are meant to be recreational and we will strive to keep it that way. Referees will enforce the following special rules:
There must be a minimum of 2 women on the field at all times, THIS DOES NOT include the goalkeeper. Goalkeepers are gender neutral. Exception: If a woman is serving a 2 minute penalty or if a team only has one woman present, the team will play with one female player.
Women will take all free kicks.
If the referee feels a shoulder charge is too rough, a direct free kick will be awarded.
Any charges around the boards will be considered boarding and a free kick will be awarded and a time penalty may be awarded.
2 Goal Limit for all male players per game in Co-ed High School and Co-ed Adult.
Macho Rule is in effect.
Players Equipment:
- Flat soled shoes designed for artificial surfaces or basketball style tennis shoes must be used (NO STUDDED, SCREW IN CLEATS, LONG MOLDED CLEATS, OR HIKING SHOES ALLOWED).
- Goalkeepers must wear colors which distinguish them from other players and referees.
- All team members must wear the same colored jerseys. If colors conflict, home teams must provide alternate jersey's or penny's.
- Home team is responsible for the Game ball.
- SHIN GUARDS AND SOCKS COVERING SHIN GUARDS ARE REQUIRED!!!
- A player shall not wear anything which is dangerous to another player. Earrings, studs, other piercings, necklaces or chains must be removed. If a player is unable to remove a ring, it shall be taped on his/her finger to prevent it from injuring another player. Any players with a cast will not be allowed to play. A brace must be padded to the satisfaction of the referee. If a player fails to carry out a referees instruction, the player shall not participate until he/she has complied with the referees instructions.
Players' Cards:
The MJCC Soccer Leagues for all ages and divisions use player’s cards. The official will collect cards from the players prior to each game and will then hand them to the attendant on duty, who will check each card to make sure each player is eligible.
To purchase an adult player’s card, a Waiver of participation must be filled out along with a fee of $10 paid to the Sports Attendant on Duty. Once those have been received the attendant will issue the player their card. Youth player's cards are $5.
The player’s card will need to be renewed annually at the start of each Fall session along with another Waiver of participation signed and fee paid.
If lost, the MJCC will check t make sure the players has a signed Waiver and will re-issue the card once and make a note of the replacement. If lost again, a fee of $5 will need to be paid for another card.
Referees Authority:
- The authority of the referee and their exercise of the powers granted to them by the MJCC Indoor Soccer Official Rules shall commence when they enter the Indoor Center. The referees are responsible for the record of the game and the control of the timekeeper (when used).
Referees Powers:
- The referees power of penalizing extends to offenses committed when play has been temporarily suspended or when the ball is out of play. Referees' decisions on point of fact and interpretation of these rules connected with play shall be final so far as the result of the game is concerned.
- Enforce the rules: Should a player commit two or more infringements of a different nature the referee shall penalize the more serious offense.
- Advantage: Refrain from penalizing in cases where they are satisfied that by so doing, they would give an advantage to the offending team.
- Discretionary Power: The referees have discretionary power to stop the game for any infringement of the rules, interference of the spectators or other cause that they deem such a stoppage necessary. In such case a detailed report shall be submitted to management of MJCC Indoor Soccer.
- Penalize/Caution: from the time they enter the field of play, they may penalize any playing or non-playing team personnel guilty of misconduct -caution any player for unsportsmanlike behavior and, if he/she persists, eject the offending person from further participation in the game.
- Illegal Entry: The referee shall not allow any person other than the players to enter the field of play without permission.
- Injury Stoppage: The referee shall stop the game if, in their opinion, a player has been injured; have the player(s) removed, as soon as possible, from the field of play and immediately resume the game.
- Ejection: The referee shall send off the field of play or out to the bench or out of the building area any player or non-playing personnel who, in their opinion, is guilty of: Violent conduct or serious foul play, foul or abusive language/behavior, persistent misconduct or chewing gum after having received a caution. On dual RED-CARDS both players are ejected from play and no player serves penalty time.
- Recommencement: The referee shall signal the recommencement of the game after all stoppages.
- Ball and Equipment Approval: The referee shall decide that the ball and other equipment provided for a match meet the requirements of these rules.
- Non-Player Discipline: The referee shall caution or eject as set forth in these rules, any coach or non-playing team personnel, or spectator who enters the field of play without the referees permission.
General:
- There will be at least one official on the field of play.
- When there are two referees on the field they will have equal authority and responsibility.
- They shall keep a record of the game and act as timekeeper/scorekeeper.
- If a player leaves the bench to engage in misconduct, that player may receive an automatic RED CARD and immediate three game suspension.
- The MJCC reserves the right to suspend any individual or team from the facility and/or league for a period of 6 months or more for behavior that is unacceptable to the facility’s standards.
- Foul language will not be tolerated. Referees and the MJCC staff on duty, have the right to ask any offenders to leave the facility.
- No cameras of any sort are allowed in the players’ box.
- Only team players and AT THE MOST 2 coaches are allowed in the players’ box.
- Game clock will start at scheduled game time.
- All players must hand their player’s card to the official each night before they are able to start playing.
- Fighting is not allowed anywhere on the MJCC property. Individuals that are involved in a fight will be suspended from ALL leagues for at least one week.
Red Card Policy:
A player or coach sent off in a game or scrimmage by a referee will be suspended according to the following guidelines:
- Any player or coach red carded will be suspended from ALL Soccer League Divisions for at least one week.
- A player or coach red carded for "assaulting an Official" will automatically be suspended from further activity at MJCC Indoor Soccer.
- Any player or coach red carded twice in one session, for any reason, shall serve an additional suspension as determined by the Center Manager.
- Any team that refuses to divulge the name of the ejected player or coach will not be allowed to continue playing until the name is given to the referee or the attendant on duty.
League Standing Point System:
- 3 points for a win
- 1 point for a tie
- 0 points for a loss
- League games that end in a tie score after regulation will remain a tie.
Starting Times and Scheduling:
- Teams with the minimum number (4) of players to start will take the field when signaled to do so by the referee. Failure to comply will result in a 2 minute penalty for delay of game. Teams without the minimum number of players after 10 minutes will forfeit the match.
- The MJCC will schedule games with the intention that all teams will play each time slot no more than two times. If teams have scheduling requests please notify the MJCC by indicating on the registration form what those requests are. The MJCC cannot gurantee that requests will be meant, but Management will do their best.
