Portland Jewish Academy is a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland and is proud of our partnership with them in strengthening our local Jewish community as well as the global community.

Portland Jewish Academy and Schnitzer Family Campus partner Mittleman Jewish Community Center are proud partners with the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland to bring the Harold Grinspoon Foundation's PJ Library program to Jewish children in Portland.

Supporting PJA

Like all independent schools, the cost of a PJA education exceeds tuition. We ask parents, grandparents, alumni, friends, and businesses to help us make up the difference. There are so many ways to show you are PJA Proud. (Click here for a PJA alumni point of view of why giving to PJA is so important.)

  • Donate! The difference between tuition and the excellent education PJA provides is approximately $2,000 per student. We urge parents to make a tax-deductible donation of this amount if they are able or as much as they can.

  • Fundraise! PJA families help raise funds by working on our auction and in other fundraising opportunities including scrip and the annual fund.

  • Volunteer! PJA parents and students participate in the Fair Share volunteer program. Fair Share hours may be earned by helping in the classroom or accompanying a class on a field trip, for example.

  • Matching gift! Check with your company to see if they will match your contribution to PJA.

  • Shop! Buy scrip every Friday and part of your purchase goes directly to PJA.

Whether you give of your time, money or other resources, your contribution helps keep PJA going strong.
