Parent/Child

Parent-Child Gymnastics
Children will develop gross motor skills through tumbling activities, climbing, jumping and balancing. Adult participation required. Location: Sportsplex.

Ages: 2-3 Sun 11:00-11:30 am 4/5-6/14 GY100 $30/$37.50 No class 5/24

Parent-Child Sportster
This class will introduce Lil “J”ers to different sports and teach fundamental motor skills such as throwing, catching, kicking & batting. Parent participation required.

Ages: 2-3 Sun 11:30-12:00 pm. Not offered through the summer


Stroller Strides

Use the environment, resistance tubing, and the stroller for a full-body workout without leaving your child. One week free to MJCC members. Location: Gym and Sportsplex. Offered November through March at the MJCC

Tiny-Mites – Gymnastics
Children learn gymnastics warm up, vocabulary, swinging, rolling and balancing skills, basic body positions and improve motor movements. Location: Sportsplex.

Mini-Mites – Gymnastics
Students gain large motor skills by learning somersault variations, body awareness and cartwheel progressions. Swinging skills are introduced on the bars. Gymnasts will also learn skills on the beam and vault. Location: Sportsplex.

Dyno-Mites
Advanced Mini-Mites with Trampoline & Tumbling
This co-ed class is geared to our younger, yet rapidly progressing gymnasts in artistic, tumbling and trampoline disciplines. Low coach to athlete ratio. Instructor approval or assessment required. Location: Sportsplex.

Indoor Tennis Basics
Work on your backhand & forehand tennis techniques with this unique blend of proven techniques to develop the young tennis players. Location: Gym Court A

Mini “J” Soccer
Participants will build their basic soccer knowledge & skills, including, dribbling, trapping, passing and more. Shin guards recommended.  Location: Sportsplex

Mini Climbers
Climb on! Designed to build confidence, and motor skills, this class will cover the basics of rock climbing in a safe structured environment. Class is limited to five participants. Location: Rock Wall.

Sportsters
ARE YOU READY? Lots of sports fun with a number of sports games such as basketball, soccer, hockey, Ga Ga & more. Location: Gym Court A.

Creative Ballet
Learn the basics of ballet, such as grace and balance, while playing with scarves, ribbons, and instruments. Work on gross motor skills, musicality, direction, and awareness of body in space, as well as peer interactions. Open to girls and boys. Instructor: Jessica Hoage.

This league introduces boys and girls to baseball with 25 minutes of skill building activities followed by a 30 minute friendly game. Team T-shirts provided. Coached by MJCC sports staff. Parent volunteer assistant coaches requested. Pre-league parent meeting is 4/30 at 6 pm. Location: Sportsplex. No class 5/24.

Archery Club
Archery club is for the archer looking to take their skills to the next level and to compete in local archery competitions. Instructor approval required. Equipment will be provided. Coach Michael Patterson. Location: Racquetball Court 1.

Basketball Hoops 101
Calling all young basketball players! Learn beginning to intermediate basketball skills or get extra practice. Work on basic dribbling skills, catching, shooting and enjoy playing against your friend. Location: Gym Court A.

Basketball Fundamentals 102
Move to the next level of Hoops with more focus on improving your skills with creative drills & contest. Defensive drills will be introduced. We will have fun scrimmages at the end of each class.

Floor Hockey - New!
Enjoy a fun introduction to the world of Hockey. Participants will work on shooting, passing and scoring. Improve motor skills and hand eye coordination. Wear athletic shoes. All other equipment will be provided. Location: Gym Court A.

“J” Scrimmage Soccer
Be ready to run, run, and run. Develop your foot skills, passing, shooting and dribbling. Scrimmaging will be a part of our class. Shin guards are required.  Location: Sportsplex.

Youth Soccer League

Youth Who Rock
Climb on! This class will cover the basics of rock climbing. This is an ideal class for kids to challenge themselves physically and mentally as well as build self confidence. Location: rock wall.

Gymnastics Level 1
All apparatus will be introduced: trampoline, vault, bars, beam, and floor. No experience necessary. Co-ed students will focus on form, strength and flexibility as well as: trampoline basics, vault drills, swinging skills on the bar, balance and movement on the beam, somersault variations, handstands, cartwheels and bridges on the floor. Location: Sportsplex.

Gymnastics Level 2

Class requires instructor approval or passing level 1. Location: Sportsplex.

Gymnastics Level 3/4 Pre-Team
Focus on dance, form, strength and flexibility. Learn trampoline forms and saltos, vault support drills, circling skills on the bar, flight elements on the beam, somersault variations, front and back walk-overs, round-offs, and back handsprings on the floor. Registration requires instructor approval or passing level 2. Sign up for 1 or 2 days. Location: Sportsplex.

MJCC Gymnastics Team
Be part of a competitive team. Routines will be taught in order to compete at the gymnast’s appropriate skill level. Gymnasts are expected to be committed year-long. Attendance requirements depend upon level of gymnast. Additional USA Gymnastics membership, uniforms and competitive event (meets) fees apply.

Hip-Hop Dance
Learn hip-hop dance moves and routines set to rhythmic contemporary music. Have fun with your friends while getting a great workout.Join us for a Dance Recital on 6/11 at 5 pm. Instructor: Jessica Hoage. Location: Dance Studio

Kids Swim to the Zone
Drop the kids off for a swim and games while you workout. Bring the kids dressed in their suits and they can play in our warm water pool from 5:15 pm to 6:00 pm, then the staff will bring them up to the Zone for games and activities until 7:30 pm. This program coincides with drop-in childcare.
