Classes for Kids

Youth Sports helps kids learn teamwork, gain social skills, and learn life lessons. At the MJCC we offer a broad variety of kids sports classes for everyone in our our fantastic facility which includes a full gymnasium, two pools and our indoor Sportsplex. Basketball Basics
Learn the basics and fundamentals of basketball including dribbling, catching, shooting, passing, and game vocabulary. Gymnasium

Creative Ballet
Learn ballet in a fun atmosphere using songs and stories as we explore how to stretch, point, flex, move across the floor, and practice using the bar. For children new to ballet. Dance Studio

Gymnastics - Tumbling Level 1
Improve motor movements and learn gymnastics vocabulary, flexibility, rolling, balancing skills, and basic body positions. For children with no prior gymnastics experience. Sportsplex

Gymnastics -Tumbling Level 2
Increase body awareness and control, build on basic body movements, and learn more intricate rolling and balancing skills. For children with at least three months gymnastics experience. Sportsplex

Sports Mix
Exercise and play games from a different sport every week including soccer, football, frisbee, hockey, and more! Sportsplex

T-Ball Basics

Enhance your skill and love of chess with our regional champion and 3rd-in-state chess team. Beginners learn basic rules and opening tactic moves. Intermediate and advanced players learn sophisticated combinations and strategies. Room 204

Beginning Hip Hop

Learn basic hip hop technique and combinations in a fun environment. Focus on improving coordination, rhythm, and finding your swagger! Dance Studio

KidFit (ages 7 - 12)
Run, jump, move, and play during this 45-minute interactive class. Active fitness games and relays will keep kids moving. It’s P.E. with a fun twist! Gymnasium

Gymnastics – Tumbling Level 1
Learn forward rolls, cartwheels, and handstands. Practice leaps and jumps as well as trampoline skills. Sportsplex

Gymnastics - Tumbling Level 2
Learn round-offs, back bends, and dive forward rolls. Practice more challenging jumps and improve balance and coordination. Geared towards those who have completed beginning tumbling. Sportsplex

Junior Climbers
Build confidence and motor skills and learn the basics of rock wall climbing in a safe and structured environment. Gymnasium

Little Medical School NEW!
Bring medicine, science, and the importance of health to children in a fun way. Classes include: What’s in the Doctor’s Bag?, All About the Heart, Is There a Surgeon in the House?, and more! Studio II
