3 Ways to Stay Connected to the MJCC This Summer

3 Ways to Stay Connected to the MJCC This Summer
Jenny Robinett

As summer approaches, I find my calendar filling up with family vacations, camping, concerts, and outdoor adventures. With these additional activities, I often end up straying from my usual routines, which can lead to missed workouts, and I often disconnect from the wonderful community at the J. To stay on track, I plan to put my workouts in my calendar and treat them like important appointments—not only for my physical health but also to keep my connections with classmates active. I encourage you to create your plan this summer to prioritize your health and your connections at the J. Here are three ways to stay connected to the MJCC this summer.

1. Join the "Summer Fitness at the J" program. This initiative lets members track their workouts both at the J and elsewhere, with fun prizes for participation.

2. Try out a new group exercise class. The J has rolled out several exciting group classes during evenings and weekends, including a Saturday morning group cycle at 8:15 am and a HIIT class on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6:30 pm. This is a fantastic chance to meet new faces in the community while pushing your fitness limits!

3. Consider finding a workout partner. Having someone who expects me to show up boosts my motivation to attend group classes. I work out with a colleague, and we both love attending classes together. That accountability can make a huge difference in staying committed, especially during the busy summer months.

These are just three ideas for staying connected to the MJCC this summer. Choose one (or a few!) that resonates with you and make it a great summer. I look forward to seeing you around the J!
