Private Lessons
Private lessons are exclusively scheduled online on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration Tutorial for Private Swim Lessons
Private (1:1) and semi-private (2:1) lessons are available for everyone age 3 and up (including adults!), may be held in either pool (lessons scheduled at 8:00 pm or later must be in the Main Pool), and are based on instructor and facility availability. We do not keep a waitlist for private lessons.
All lessons must be purchased and scheduled through our online portal (see tutorial above). When setting up your account, make sure if you are buying lessons for your child that they are purchased under your child's name and that your child's contact info accurately reflects where you want information sent. Email is our primary means of communication, so please use an address that is checked regularly.
Each month, private lesson registration will close at 12:00 noon on the 3rd so that we can prepare schedules for the next month. It will reopen at 12:00 noon on the 5th for the following month (so registration for December lessons would open on November 5th). If the 5th is a Saturday or a holiday when the MJCC has shortened hours, registration will open on the next day we are open normal hours (usually the 6th). All private lesson scheduling will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lessons must be scheduled online at least 48 hours in advance. We recommend scheduling as many of your lessons as you can during the purchase process. Our programs are extremely popular and you may find it difficult or impossible to book lessons later that were not scheduled at the time of purchase. If you do not see any lessons available to be scheduled it is because all lessons that were open for registration have already been booked.
If you are booking a semi-private lesson, the second student will also need to immediately register for the same time. We do not match up students; you must already have your own lesson partner. Please make sure that the first swimmer in a pair who registers selects a time that indicates "2 of 2 spots open," allowing the other partner to later select the second spot. Semi-private lessons without a second student registered within 24 hours of the initial registration will be converted to private lessons and you will be charged the difference.
If you need to cancel a lesson, you can do so without penalty at least 24 hours in advance. You can do this via your online account, and you can reschedule the lesson if any times are available. If you cancel for any reason with less than 24 hours' notice, you will still be charged.
If for any reason we need to cancel your lesson, we will call you if it is less than 24 hours in advance. If the cancellation is more than 24 hours in advance, you will be notified only via email. Lessons we cancel for any reason can be rescheduled through your online account.
*Please note: For developmental reasons, children must be at least 3 years old to enroll in private lessons.

1 x 1/2 hour

5 x 1/2 hour

All private lessons expire six months from the date of purchase. Packages cannot be split between multiple people.
Enrollment FAQ
Enrollment FAQs
- You may register online.
- Payment must be provided at time of registration.
- Enrollment is open until the Wednesday before the session starts.
- On the first day of the session, our instructors will assess each participant to gauge their abilities and make sure they are in the correct level. If your child is not in the appropriate level, we will recommend that you transfer to the appropriate class level/time. If we do not have a place open in the appropriate level, your child will not be able to continue and we will refund your enrollment fee.
- If a participant misses a class, they are not allowed to drop in to other classes or levels nor will a refund be issued. If a class or program is canceled due to inclement weather or other cause, we are unable to schedule make-up sessions. There will not be a refund if classes or events are canceled in the event of extreme weather or other circumstances outside of our control.
- Swim lesson registration fee does not include open swim before/after class. As always, all persons participating in open swim must pay the daily admission fee or use their membership card before entering the pools. Supervision policy applies.
Accommodating Waitlists
All programs operate with minimum enrollment requirements and maximum enrollment capacities. We reserve the right to cancel, change, or combine programs when minimum program enrollments have not been met.
Once a program is filled, a waitlist will be created. You will be emailed if an opening becomes available or if additional classes are created. If no openings become available by the first day of class, the waitlists will be deleted. Note: If additional classes are created, they may not be at the same time or day as the original program.
Note: swim diapers with tight fitting waist and legs required for children not yet potty trained.
