Harry Glickman Award

The Harry Glickman Scholar Athlete Award!
The MJCC selects two winners for the Harry Glickman Award each year. Any Jewish student athlete who has lived in Oregon for the past three years and is a junior or senior in high school is eligible. Two winners are selected and recognized at our Awards Ceremony in the spring. This award was established in 2012, in honor of Harry Glickman (z”l), the “father” of professional sports in Oregon. He was the founder of the Portland Trail Blazers, the Trail Blazers’ President from ‘87-’94 and the founder of the Portland Buckaroos. He is also a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
